Death of itunes

I have 10 of thousands of songs with me, and in a long run, i believe everyone will own those many songs. With apple charging more than a $1 for a song, its next to impossible for my entire music collection to come from this source.

Apple has to change its business model (similar to lala or Rhapsody, where you can add songs to your collection for much lesser price) or Apple's itunes will die soon.

Facebook Vs Twitter Vs Blog

With twitter, facebook and blog, i am too confused where to write what. So i guess the best answer is as follows:

1. Less than 140 characters, and not expecting many friend's collaborative participation and not expected to have a long term refernce: TWITTER
2. Need immediate notice from friends, long term archival is not priority: FACEBOOK
3. Long term archival is priority; Friend's notice is medium priority: BLOG

I am already taken - my best country song now...

Steve Wariner "I'm Already Taken" (1978). I have been hearing this in Y100 FM in San Antonio. This song is so good and i realised, this is the same guy who sang "Holes in the Floor of Heaven", and accidentally i heard this song for the first time on the same day my grandma died....Too many flooding memory.

The lyrics goes like this

one day shy of eight years old, my grandma passed away
i was a broken hearted little boy, blowing out that birthday cake
how i cried when the sky let go, with a cold and lonesome rain,
mamma smiled, said don't be sad child, grandma's watching you today

(chorus)
cause theres holes in the floor of heaven
and her tears are pouring down,
that's how you know she's watching,
wishing she could be here now,
and sometimes if your lonely,
just remember she can see,
there's holes in the floor of heaven,
and she's watching over you and me,

seasons come, and seasons go, nothing stays the same
i grew up, fell in love, met a girl who took my name
year by year, we made a life, in this sleepy little town
i thought we'd grow old together, Lord, i sure do miss her now

But there's holes in the floor of heaven,
and her tears are pouring down,
that's how i know she's watching,
wishing she could be here now,
and sometimes when i'm lonely,
i remember she can see,
there's holes in the floor of heaven,
and she's, watching over you and me,

well my little girl is twenty three, I walk her down the aisle
it's a shame her mom can't be here now, to see her lovely smile
they throw the rice, i catch her eye, as the rain starts coming down
she takes my hand, says daddy don't be sad,
cause i know mamma's watching now

And there's holes in the floor of heaven,
and her tears are pouring down,
that's how you know she's watching,
wishing she could be here now,
and sometimes when i'm lonely,
i remember she can see,
yes, there's holes in the floor of heaven,
and she's, watching over you and me

watching over you and me
watching over you and me

Now, here is the "I am already taken" song...

Rolex on my 35th birthday

I guess, watch has been my obsession since long time. At one point, i did not feel the need to wear a watch. Then my dad gave me a Citizen watch during my college days that he got from Singapore. Whenever i wore that, it used to attract eyes. Then the interest towards watch died down. When i started going to work, i think i was wearing the watch presented by sai baba (to all students). Then in 1998, i fell in love with Omega, but bought only Swatch (to start with). The love for Omega Seamaster continued to grow in my mind. Then, one afternoon during lunch break i went and purchased. After this, i started collecting HMT watches for their vintage designs. I fell for Favre Leuba for the vintage design, that i picked up from a old watch repair shop. Since 4-5 years, the yearning for Rolex is growing and i always felt that i should acquire Rolex by my 35th birthday. Now this is coming to be real. My 35th birthday is going to be this year (October). Rolex is going to be an addition for this birthday. I am sure, this will be passed on to my first grandson :)

Show me the next whiskey bar

Thanks to Aarthy, i found this music

A Promise is a promise - Ratan Tata tells the world with his $2000 car "Nano"

Its so funny that Nano name was being rotated during the launch of the car. When you see it rotating, you read "Na No"..Na in hindi meaning "No" and again "No" in english. When it turns during rotation, you read "on on" meaning, the car is a reality. I dont know if anyone noticed this or made it this way intentionally.

I dont see the marketing charm in Ratan Tata, as i see in Steve Jobs. But i was mersmerised when you started talking about the price and also considering that the car has 50 Miles per gallon (Remember my car gives 25 miles per gallon). The car was one man dream 4 years back that set the price to be $2000 or Indian Rupee 100,000. People speculated that the car may sell for double that promised price considering input cost increase and increased safety and emission standards. But Ratan Tata said "The Price of the car is Rs.100,000 ($2000). A Promise is a Promise and thats what we would like to leave with you". I almost cried. If god is anywhere, he must give this man, another 100 years to live and give him another target. Target to do something so crucial that will provide peace to humanity. When he sets his eyes on something, he does it. Long Live Ratan

My Anniversary Gift

We got this beautifully carved king and queen set on our anniversary...probably i should aptly call them Emperor and Empress, considering their origin. This ivory piece is astonishing...

It is not fair to block corporate bonuses

It is ofcourse not fair to block corporate bonuses for companies like AIG and Citi and other huge loss making companies.

Let us say that a company has made a loss of $100 Billion for the year and the company is handing out 200 Million in bonuses to high ranking executives. There is nothing wrong in that because, had it not been for those executives, the companies would have made $200 Billion dollar losses. If giving those $200 million in bonuses is not fair, then what justifies government giving tax money in the form of loan to the extent of $100 Billion dollars in terms of revival loans or some other fancy names.

If you decide not to support bad companies and bad executives, the let the companies die.

Now having taken these public money, what if these companies, just have fun and not show results. What is the perks for the top execs to perform now? If you set a trend that bonuses cant be given to these companies, what prevents the highly talented execs to stick onto the bad companies... They will leave the company and join some other performing companies and get salary and bonuses and some not so intelligent characters will become CEOs of these Government funded companies.

Triglycerides is GOD

I have almost stopped my consistent running since almost a year, i should say. To aggravate, i have started eating like crazy, as if there is no tomorrow. The amount of rice, oil, butter, bagel and cream cheese i had was all time high. Imagine this without supplementing any form of exercise....My Triglyceride level skyrocketed....to almost 300.

I saw this result last Monday and since then i have been running almost 2.5 miles everyday....Today is 8th day and there has been no break...I have stopped going to Bagel Shop. I have made my eating moderate, though not completely stopped overeating. But i am getting there...

When i was in Doctor's office this time, i noticed a man who looked like he was in his 50s...When he gave his date of birth during blood test, i was astonished, as his age was 72. I met him later and asked him the secret to his health and he said "My wife takes care of it". This statement is very true. "Listen to your wife. She can save you"

My ipod kit is not working, looks like it has run out of battery, so i need to get a new one...Once i get it, i will have the graphs running on the blog again.

Life Goes On

I got this as an email, one of the usual forwards, but real nice.

Here i am sitting in my office @ night…
Thinking hard about life
How it changed from a maverick collage life to strict professional life…...

How tiny pocket money changed to huge monthly paychecks
but then why it gives lesss happiness….

How a few local denim jeans changed to new branded wardrobe
but then why there are less people to use them

How a single plate of samosa changed to a full Pizza or burger
But then why there is less hunger…..

Here i am sitting in my office @ night…
Thinking hard about life
How it changed…..

How a bike always in reserve changed to bike always on
but then why there are less places to go on……

How a small coffee shop changed to cafe coffee day
but then why its feels like shop is far away…..

How a limited prepaid card changed to postpaid package
but then why there are less calls & more messages……

Here i am sitting in my office @ night…
Thinking hard about life
How it changed…...

How a general class journey changed to Flight journey
But then why there are less vacations for enjoyment….

How a old assembled desktop changed to new branded laptop
but then why there is less time to put it on……….

How a small bunch of friends changed to office mate
But then why we always feel lonely n miss those college frnz.….

Here i am sitting in my office @ night…
Thinking hard about life
How it changed….. How it changed……..

Jango

I found this amazing online radio station. Song quality is good and collection is great. Jango is anInternet radio and social networking service, which means you can add friends and see what they listen and create your own music stations and share with friends. It is similar to last.fm

I know why the caged bird sings

I know why the caged bird sings, ah me,
When his wing is bruised and his bosom sore,
When he beats his bars and would be free;
It is not a carol of joy or glee,
But a prayer that he sends from his heart's deep core,
But a plea, that upward to Heaven he flings –
I know why the caged bird sings

I am impressed by this poem. I saw this book in one of the Reba Mcentire's music video. Its on a song called "Is there life out there". This song was composed after her entire band crew died in a place accident. In this song, she prepares very hard (after being a mom for 2) for a college paper and types bunch of papers over 3 weeks and her kids pours coffee on those papers. That time she says "She does not need any more accidents in her life". Towards the end of video, her teacher appreciates the paper and gives her A and says jokingly says to avoid stain on her paper the next time. She says "I learnt a lot from the stain than from her paper". Its nice.

Life is simple as a baby

My son gets disturbed in night, probably once a week. He tosses and turns in the midnight, half way through his sleep. Some days he complains his leg is paining, or some days he says that he needs his doggy soft toy and on some days he says "I Need Space" (true American, i guess). All that i need to do is to fill up a bottle of milk and put it in his mouth. He drinks and sleeps and never complains again. Imagine, if all our worries in life could be solved with a bottle of milk.

Americans can be mean to enforce the "right thing"

In my office, i took a pen from stationery rack that mentioned "Finance". While i was trying to take this pen, i saw one of the employees from "Finance" walk past me. I guess he saw me trying to open the box to take a pen. Within 30 seconds, the unit's secretary came by and asked me if i needed help. I told her that i am taking a pen and she curtly said that this belongs to "Finance" unit and locked the door...As i had the pen already in hand, i asked if i can take it and she said YES. It was very unpleasant experience for that 30 cent pen....Shame on me, i was so embarrassed, i decided to write this blog entry.

Spanglish - One of the best movie i have seen

I watched Spanglish last week. Its so amazing, it kept me thinking about it....It very UnAmerican.Watch it to understand this statement. There are other beautiful statements from this movie.

"They should name a gender after you. Looking at you doesn't do it, staring is the only way that makes sense. And trying not to blink so you don't miss anything.
And all of that and you're you. It's just that you are drop dead crazy gorgeous.
So much so, that I'm actually considering looking at you again before we finish up here."

There are some mistakes you cannot risk when you have children.

One notable blog on carnatic music is http://dwani.blogspot.com/

Music Blogs

I was in a mood for music and i went to my blog archives tagged for music. When i realised that poornima has removed from music blog site, i felt sad for a bit. I googled to get her blog, if she shifted to wordpress or some such thing, but i failed.

In this process, i landed on this goldmine. Its after a long long time, that i had goosebumps for continuous 7 minutes seeing this piece of music...Its played by José Feliciano, a born blind person (i realized he was blind after listening to this piece). This is performed by JOhnny cash and Jose...

I thought kunnakudi mastered violin better than any musician has mastered any instrument....But after seeing Jose and his style, i wonder if there is any other musician as versatile as him. This is the first time, i have seen, that a player is making music by tuning his string...Watch this to understand what i am saying....

You have not tasted Chocolate until you taste this

After coming to US, i was exposed only to snickers and butterfinger and i wondered why people are addicted to chocolate. Those were bad chocolates if you asked me. Then one day, i tasted Lindor Chocolates and i just cant stop eating them. Here are some categories for you...

Lindor Milk
The red ball (wrapped in red) is an absolute classic and the favourite choice of most people including me. Finest milk chocolate with an endlessly smooth and creamy filling.

Lindor Noir
This has 60% cocoa – a dark version of Lindor (wrapped in black) which perfectly combines the delicate, smooth melting filling with the fascinating world of dark, bitter chocolate.

Lindor Blanc
The white Lindor ball (wrapped in yellow) is a firm favourite among white chocolate fans. White chocolate with an endlessly soft, creamy white filling.

Lindor Noël
This is an exquisite Christmas recipe with a hint of cinnamon and coriander (wrapped in a cinnamon color).

Lindor Straciatella
This famous and well-loved Italian recipe is available for a short time in a limited edition.

Costco has a similar chocolate under Kirkland Signature brand.

Slumdog Millionaire - Nice Songs

I was astonished by this site (http://www.radioreloaded.com). It has songs from most movies for hearing and downloading. I heard O Saya from this movie on this site.

Great Lyrics - mayil iRagae mayil iRagae

I am amazed reading such a lyrics...Missing soma:)

Ulaga mozhiyil varum
ellamay neer ezhuththu
kaadhal dhaan kal ezhuththu anbe..

Ok,in English, this translates to:

"Everything in every language
are written in Water
Love alone is written in stone, My Love"

I was wondering why i could not catch this lyrics (till i read the lyrics from a site) when i have been listening to this song over 200 times over the last 2 years. Then today when i heard the song again in youtube, i realized why? The singers for this song were horrible. The names look like tamil names to me, but they have killed this song in everyway. Sorry ARR, i have liked the fact that you have introduced great singers, but this choice is ugly, though the singers voice is great, their pronunciation needs improvement. The song details are as follows:

Movie Name: Aa Aah (2005)
Singer: Madhushree, Naresh Iyer
Music Director: Rahman AR
Year: 2005
Actors: Nila, Surya S J

148 LB to 166 LB

During the last 3 months, i have been consistently increasing my weight. I was 148LBs 6 months back. This increased to 154 and stabilized there for a while. When the weight increased to 157, I got tensed and tried GM diet and cut down on Bagel and came back to 154. But, with overeating 3-4 times a week, i came to 160 and stabilised at 160. For the last one week, my scale is showing 163 and i peaked 163.8 2 days back. Shame on me, i was writing some jingle like this in my sleep:

"Keep off the Cream (cheese)
to achieve the Dream"

"Water for thirst; Salad for hunger and Aleve for head ache"

Relationships Defined Implicitly

I have noted that certain relationships in life are implicitly defined:

1. Father and mother loves their children unconditionally till the children get to certain age. However bad the children behave, parents tend to love them. But after certain age, say 13 or 14 years, parents expect kids to behave in the way parents want. If kids don't behave that way, they start to hate their children or act in a way that does not emit love from eyes.

These days kids at age 2-6 are known to throw tantrums and hit / kick people around to express their anger or irritation or even use bad / disrespectful words, however parents always have love on their eyes when they look at their kids, upto an age. However, if kids do any of these things after 13-14 years, parents tend to build up hatred towards their kids. I guess, God has created the world in such a way, that some relationships are implicitly defined. PARENTS SHOULD LOVE KIDS TO CERTAIN AGE.

In earlier days, there were implicit definitions for all relations. Kids should respect parents. Young generations should respect elder generation. Young people should not argue with elders even if elders are wrong.Wife should always be subdued to husbands whims and fancies. Husband can hit / scold wife and wife should not retaliate. These days, such things are no longer followed.

Apple iBangle

Apple Design new concept design for an Apple mp3 player. It is called the iBangle and it is unique as well as ground breaking. It has no screen and it has some other really cool features.

You see that blue inner band? Push a tiny button on the side and it fills with air, expanding to fit snugly around your wrist.

Apple iBangle's a multi-touch track pad for easy navigation, and the audio finds its way to your ears via a couple of wireless earbuds.
Ear buds with the annoying cords won't be found here, as the audio is transmitted via wireless ear buds. There's a multi-touch track pad for easy navigation. It also has a few additional buttons for music control. Although the iBangle doesn't have a screen, designer Gopinath Prasana figures you can navigate just fine with it's audio-oriented navigation system.

REDRUM

It was 2 days back when i got a drum from my son Rishi from Walmart. My son is learning colors and so he was saying Blue Drum, Yellow Drum and Red Drum. Then, for some strange reason, he caught on to the Red color and he kept repeating RED DRUM, REDDRUM, RED RUM, RED RUM...As he was repeating RED RUM,it started getting so scary. Anybody who has seen "The Shining" will understand what i am saying. For those of you who has not seen the movie, RED RUM, when seen in a mirror will look like MUR DER (MURDER).

Haagen Dazs ice cream

After being addicted to the Mango ice cream from Haagen Dazs, i tried this ice cream. This is possibly the closest taste to Heaven.

Flavor Notes: Rich, sumptuous waves of cream mingle with evocative glimpses of tropical honey. The rare and delicate texture of the Lehua honey is entirely different from any honey you've ever tasted.

Inspiration: Lehua honey comes from the remote volcanic slopes of Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. There, honeybees gather nectar from the Ohia tree's fragrant Lehua blossoms. These beautiful red flowers are the unique flavor source for this rare, amber honey.

Food Pairings: Serve on a freshly baked Belgian waffle, then try to resist the aroma of warm waffle mingling with the cool ice cream and tropical honey.

Wine Pairings: A rich and balanced Sauternes from France.

Bagel Deaddiction

I have not been eating bagel for a week. I don't feel the habit controlling me anymore. I will keep posted if i start again. My weight has been consistently showing 160Lbs and that is worrying me. I should be right at 150Lb.

I am trying to run at least a mile everyday. Lets see how it goes.

There`s no dollar sign on a piece of mind

Yes, thats the powerful line in the song "Chicken Fried" by Zac Brown. I have been hearing this song on Y100 today. Its really amazing. The singer sings this song in a quite powerful voice.

Scroll the video by 1 min and 20 sec to start seeing the song...

You know I like my chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I was raised up beneath the shade of a Georgia pine
And that`s home you know
Sweet tea pecan pie and homemade wine
Where the peaches grow
And my house it`s not much to talk about
But it`s filled with love that`s grown in southern ground
And a little bit of chicken fried

Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love

Well its funny how it`s the little things in life that mean the most
Not where you live or the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes
There`s no dollar sign on a piece of mind this I`ve come to know
So if you agree have a drink with me
Raise you glasses for a toast
To a little bit of chicken fried

Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love

I thank god for my life
And for the stars and stripes
May freedom forever fly, let it ring.
Salute the ones who died
The ones that give their lives so we don`t have to sacrifice
All the things we love
Like our chicken fried

Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love

Some months ago, i made a collage of my face. The old fat face (with pink T shirt)was taken in June 2006 and the lean face was taken in Jan 2008 (Red stripe T Shirt).

In Nov 2008, i took the picture of my face again (White shirt). Now its fat again...effect of tasty food from mother in law :(

Its hard for me to believe that these faces belong to the same person, that too me.

AK Namashivayam Alias AK47

My Friend Who planned everything

AK Namashivayam alias AK47 is my college mate and room mate for 3 years during my under graduation in puttaparthy. He plans everything in advance. Everyday he used to take one set of underwear and towel as a preparation for his bath the next morning. He always obeys all the rules and studies to the best of his abilities. After he finished his graduation in math, he went on to become a professor in a college near his home town, Salem. After a couple of years, i heard that he passed way due to some sudden illness. He planned for everything, i am not sure what he would have done if he knew that he would die at such an young age.

My weekend with my college friends

This is the mail that my friend Anand sent about the get together

Had a gala time last weekend. Globe trotter prabhu landed in houston from Cancun on saturday morning . We drove down to San antonio and reached pudu's home on saturday afternoon. Had sumptuous lunch made by kavita which included payasam also. Went to the space needle and river walk in the evening. Then pudu and kavitha opened the world of mexican food to us. was really good and enjoyed the food. thanks to bill gates and his thoodhu .... who else but prabhu for sponsoring the dinner. then we went home to drop the ladies and the 3 gentleman went to the sin clubs for some time. On the way back we it was really good to listen to kannadasan songs and spoke to soma for a brief .

next day morning , kavitha's dosa and krispy creams donuts made our stomach's to explode and the grand finale ended with cinnamon rolls and thayir sadam and maavadu oorga for lunch.

we were teasing that Rishi will beat pudu to shame with all his manmada leelas after some time.

i could see a new hari , taking care of Rishi changing his diapers , giving him food , making him sleep etc .But i could also see that he was waiting for an opportunity to come out and hang out with me and prabhu on saturday night. koozhukum aasai and meesaikum aasai is there in every one of us.

that is the update on last weekends majaa in San Antonio.

thanks to pudu and kavitha and kavitha's mother to excellent hospitality shown to us.

Customer Lifetime Value

The concept of customer lifetime value is in existance since 90s. In simple terms, it means the total sum of profit a customer brings to the company in present value terms. If the cost of aquiring the customer is more than the customer life time value, then the company should not be acquiring the customer. Sounds familiar?? Yes, this is the same ceoncept used in investment decisions since 1000s of years.

I wonder why Wamu is sending me bulky mailer with checks every month, when i have never used them and i have not used their credit card much.Instead of spending that $5 on me every month, they should be spending on someone else.

Living with Plantar fasciitis

I stopped running completely since april 2008 after i had injured my foot after a 10 mile run in Jan 2008. Its almost 9 months now. I still have the pain when i apply pressure to the pain spot on my foot. My podiatrist adviced me to wear New Balance with Sole insole for running, asked me to perform strectching exercise of my planter fascia and told me that i am better than most people who cant even walk due to the heavy pain associated with Plantar fasciitis.

Coming back to the main story, i stopped running since April 2008. After the first 4 months, the pain completely disappeared. But when i ran 2 miles once, my pain reemerged. So,i had to stop again. Podiatrist adviced that i take it slow and i did. I walked for a mile or two once a month. But then, i still had the pain. My leg is always demanding complete rest. However, my taste buds are not. As i am addicted to good, tast food and over eating i started putting on weight. Increased from 148 pounds to 160 pounds gradually. So, now, i have decided that i will run, after if i continue to have Plantar fasciitis. I will be in close consultation with my podiatrist and monitor my foot constantly, so i dont miss medical oversight.

Come on...
If i can have diabetes and still eat bagel everyday, I should RUN everyday even though i have Plantar fasciitis.

Happy Running...I have put my iPod and Nike+ kit to work. Watch for graphs soon on this blog.

Apple September 2008 Keynote by Steve Jobs

I love the key note address from Steve Jobs. As always, he was brillinant this time. iPod Nano comes with this cool feature called GENIUS. This feature automatically creates playlist based on song that you play. This selection uses preference patters from 650 million iTunes users. I think its similar to the Netflix model of recommendations. Also, itunes has the ability to provide you with songs that are similar to the one that is being played, but you dont possess. What a great marketing. iTunes 8.0 that is released today has this Genius.

Another great thing i noticed is that iPod Touch has Nike + ipod built into it. So, all that one needs is the chip that goes into the nike sneakers.

Sole Ultra Softec Review

My Podiatrist prescribed me an arch support from either PowerStep or Sole. I tried Power Step for a week and then moved over to Sole. Initially, i thought Sole is not a great brand, till i saw the product manual and their website.

Imagine, you putting your sole into oven preheated to 200 degrees and keeping inside for 2 minutes for it to mold into your foorshape when you put them on. I was amazed at the video that they have posted on their site.

The insole costs $49 from New Balance Store in San antonio. On the Sole website, it is available for $44. I am putting this insole into New Balance 1224 Shoes. I can feel the arch support on my left foot which is a flat foot. My right foot has proper arch naturally. So even though i wear this insole, it hardly makes any difference. You need to buy this expensive insole only if you have a flat foot and you run atleast 2-3 miles a day or if your Podiatrist prescribes it. My Podiatrist is Dr Richard Bellacosa from San Antonio Podiatry. I like his treatment style. He uses a digital recorder during the visit and talks into the recorder about my problems and his prescribed solution.

Why can't we listen to other's advice

Are we built in such a way that we cant take any advice from others. I have been getting advices many times during my life time...Such advices includes:

1. Run (1991-1996)
2. Dont drink Fanta and such carbonated drinks (1996-2004)
3. Dont drink diet sodas (since 2008...)
4. Dont over eat (Since 2008...)

If only i heard these advices, i would be more fit and healthy.

When i see anyone over eating or if i see someone who does not give enough importance to studies, i feel like advising them. I get so tempted to advice them. But how can i expect them to listen to my advice, when i myself cant listen to other's advice, that i know is very much good for me..

Soma taught me how to read TAMIL...

I have read Tamil before Soma introduced me to Tamil. I see a lot of people reading tamil novel. I am not sure how many of them read enjoying "small lines" within the novel. Exampe, in one of sujatha's novel, he says "Bathroom kku vilela Nariya Soap Petti Kathirundhadhu" (lot of soap boxes were waiting outside the bathroom). What a great imagination/ description from the author. Whenever i read Novels, i try to njoi such sweet lines. He is also the one who inspires me to Njoi the journey than the destination. Vaazhga Soma...

Currently i am reading Sujatha's Nila Nizhaal. I liked it when the novel refered to the village called Valadi in the novel. This is a village near Trichy from where one of my classmate came from during my ER High school days.

AR Rahman Rare Interview

Not as usual, i got up at 6 AM while the whole family was still sleeping. I wanted to listen to "VAzhga Vazhga song from Kadhal Virus. My search in raaga site didnt give any result. So i went to google. I got some youtube links and found this interview. I am so amazed how a young boy can produce music of a quality that came out in ROJA. When i listen to ARR's sakarakatti, i feel bad. How did such a great musician degrade in music? May be, the judgement of mine on sakarakatti is early, as i have listened to it only 2-3 times. But it has not attracted me much. Kuchelan sounds better.
